Hörbergsgården

One of the main targets of Pellinge Hembygdsförening is to preserve and gather information on life in Pellinge in the old days. A museum was established in order to have a place where to store and save items gathered from the local archipelago. The museum premises, located on the island Ölandet within vicinity from St. Olof chapel, comprise half a dozen buildings. They all originate from various places in the Pellinge archipelago and have been transferred to their current places. The main building Hörbergsgården dates back to the 1860s and was moved from Söderby in 1963. The erection took nine years and the museum finally opened in 1972. There is also a blacksmith’s workshop, a stable, a few sheds and a sheep barn. Donated boats are kept in two sheds by the waterfront. One building is used for administrative purposes by the association staff.
